Why Leather Patches at the Yoke and Corners

A tote usually fails in two places: the top edge where the handles pull, and the bottom corners where the bag is set down. The leather yoke runs across the full width of the top, so the load is distributed along the entire rim rather than concentrated on four stitch points. The corner patches wrap the lower corners and take the scuffing that would otherwise wear through the canvas.

• Base: flat with a 10 cm gusset, or reinforced base panel for heavier loads.
• Hardware: none on the standard version, keeping the metal-free look.

Stitch density, thread size and seam allowance are fixed per order and recorded on the production sheet, so repeat orders match the first delivery.

Canvas and Leather Options

Standard canvas colours are natural, black, navy, olive, grey and ecru; custom dyeing starts at 1,000 pieces per colour with lab dips for approval. PU leather comes in brown, black, tan, dark grey or a colour matched to your palette.

PU is standard because it is consistent in colour and thickness, needs no conditioning and suits vegan programmes. Genuine leather can be quoted; it changes the hand-feel and price and needs a longer approval cycle because hides vary.

Contrast stitching makes the patchwork legible. Cream or ecru on brown leather is the default; the thread can also match the canvas, the leather or a brand colour, and tonal stitching gives a quieter look.

Printing and Branding

Three print methods are available:

• Screen printing: the most economical choice for one to four spot colours and large, solid logos on canvas.
• Heat transfer: suited to multicolour artwork, fine detail and small runs within an order.
• UV printing: direct-to-garment style printing that holds photographic detail and gradients without colour separation.

Positions are the front panel, back panel, gusset and handle ends. The leather yoke can also carry debossing, foil stamping or a small woven label, and woven labels, leather patch labels and metal tags are available as separate trims.

The artwork in the photographs is a customer sample for construction reference only; your own logo and colours replace it in production.

Custom Sizes and Configurations

Size is fully custom. Common briefs are 38 x 35 x 10 cm for an A4 file and laptop, 42 x 38 x 12 cm for a larger shopper, 35 x 30 x 10 cm for a conference bag and 45 x 40 x 15 cm for retail use. A flat sleeve tote with no gusset is also possible.

Handle length is quoted as the clear drop: 25 cm sits at the hand, 35 cm clears the shoulder and 45 cm works over a coat. Pockets, zip closure, press-stud tab, detachable strap and contrasting lining are quoted separately.

Care and Longevity

Spot clean the canvas with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then air dry flat away from heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as heat and agitation distort the canvas and leather. Wipe PU leather with a damp cloth. Store flat or stuffed rather than folded along the yoke.
